CAVE CITY, Ky. – A fugitive from Arkansas and his passenger were arrested following a traffic stop in Cave City on Friday, police say.

The Cave City Police Department says it observed a vehicle driving carelessly before the vehicle almost struck a police cruiser.

According to police, a Cave City police major stopped his cruiser to avoid a collision.

Authorities say the major stopped the other vehicle, identifying the driver as Jeremy Nunnally, a fugitive from Arkansas.

Police say a search of the vehicle located a substance believed to be methamphetamine and suspected Klonopin pills in the purse of a passenger, identified as Kara Ollis.

Nunnally and Ollis were arrested. Nunnally is charged with fugitive from another state, theft of identity of another without consent and careless driving.

Ollis is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine) and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified).

Both were transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
