Friday update: Coronavirus numbers in south central Kentucky

Over 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Governor Beshear’s daily coronavirus summary on Friday. Kentucky has had over 70,000 cases of the virus, the official total is 70,727.

Six new deaths were also reported Friday, bringing the statewide total to 1,197.

According to the Barren River District Health Department, there have been 7,421 total cases in the surrounding counties combined since the start of the pandemic, 6,255 have recovered.

There are no new deaths reported in any of these counties.

– ALLEN COUNTY: 383 (+5)

– SIMPSON COUNTY: 295 (+1)

– HART COUNTY: 198

– EDMONSON COUNTY: 158 (+1)

– METCALFE COUNTY:133 (+4)
