Franklin woman arrested after $6,000 cash is reported stolen from vehicle

FRANKLIN, Ky.- Police in Franklin say $6,000 in cash was stolen out of a vehicle Wednesday morning and now a woman is behind bars.

According to an arrest citation, Franklin police officers responded to the Days Inn on Trotter Lane at 1:45 a.m.

The owner of a vehicle told police a woman had broken into his car and stole the thousands of dollars in cash.

The citation reads that when police confronted Brittney Key, 27, they found $3,100 in cash in her purse.

Police also said they located seven fake Rolex watches inside the room Key was staying in.

Police said in her citation Key became belligerent when she was arrested.

Key is charged with resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and receiving stolen property-under $10,000.

She was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.
