Franklin-Simpson High School head football coach resigns

FRANKLIN, Ky.- The head football coach of Franklin-Simpson High School has announced he’s leaving the program.

In a tweet sent out Thursday, Coach Doug Preston confirmed he resigned as head coach. He goes on to say that the last eight years have been a wonderful time of his life.

Preston led the Wildcats to back to back state titles in 2017 and 2018.

In 2019, he was named Coach of the Year for Class 4A-District 2, by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.

According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Preston was named as new head coach at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.
