Franklin Simpson community rallies around Mason Davis & Damont Leggs with vigil
FRANKLIN, Ky. – The Franklin community held a vigil Thursday night for two Franklin-Simpson High School students recovering from a car accident.
The sanctuary at Franklin First United Methodist Church was standing room only as members of the community came together to show support for the families of Mason Davis & Damont Leggs.
The night featured prayer & singing as the community united in support of these families.
We were able to speak to a pastor, who also prays for the football & basketball teams at Franklin-Simpson High School. He knows Damont and was overwhelmed by the support of the community.
“That says a lot about Franklin. That says a lot about the community of Franklin… One thing I say about community: we might not always agree on everything, but when it’s time to be there for each other, I’ve seen Franklin do it. I’ve been here 15 years at Franklin Community Church, another five years serving at another church here in Franklin, and it just seems to get bigger and stronger,” Eric Walker, pastor at Franklin Community Church says.
During the vigil, it was revealed that Mason had one of his best days yet and is recovering well. However, we still do not have an update on Damont’s condition.
We will keep you updated on these two boys as we learn more.
