Franklin native represents at Kentucky Youth of the Year Competition

FRANKLIN, Ky.- With the support of your community, nothing is impossible. One staff member at the Boys and Girls Club proves that.

Malachi Allen, a former student at the Boys and Girls Club, is now a staff member and was selected to represent the entire state of Kentucky at the Youth of the Year competition.

Students come from all over the world to compete for the title, and Allen is motivated not only by the support of the community but by the students who look up to him.

Allen shares what motivates him. He says, ” I cried my heart out that day because growing up, I was not a person who would put themselves out there in front of everyone. And now that I’m doing that, to see that younger generations of people are looking up to me to be that support system and to shared their voice, really inspires me.”

Allen is dedicated to ensuring that the students are the Boys and Girls Club are the best versions of themselves by continuing his education and continuing to be the best role model that he can be.
