Franklin man flees from police, charged with domestic assault

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Franklin man is charged after fleeing police.

On Wednesday at 7 pm, Scottsville Police received a dispatch to the lobby of the Scottsville Police Department about a domestic assault report.

The victim reported to police that Michael D. Chastain, 30 of Franklin, had assaulted the victim at a Scottsville residence.

Officers located Chastain in a vehicle located on East Main Street.

Chastain exited the vehicle and fled from police in the 500 block of East Main Street.

Officers located Chastain on the roof of the Dollar Tree at Jack’s Shopping Center.

Chastain was placed under arrest without incident.

Chastain is charged with strangulation 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree, assault 4th Degree (domestic violence) and fleeing or evading Police (on foot)

Chastain is lodged at the Allen County Detention Center.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Scottsville Police Department.
