Fourth of July draws huge crowd at Jellystone Park
CAVE CITY, Ky.- Hundreds of people continued their Independence Day celebration at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Mammoth Cave on Friday. The campground is having their annual Let Freedom Ring event, and this year has drawn one of the largest crowds the park has ever had.
Families slathered on sunscreen and packed park attractions like Karst Beach. It’s a newer attraction that the park’s manager says has drawn a huge crowd to Jellystone this year.
More than 1,000 people are staying at the park during the Fourth of July weekend. Themed Independence Day celebrations include a golf cart parade, beach volleyball tournament and a meet and greet with Yogi Bear.
Visitors come from around the state to visit Jellystone during the holiday week. One visitor said he comes with his family each year to celebrate Independence Day.
If you’d like to join in on some of the park’s Independence Day celebrations, you don’t have to camp out. Events range from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. all weekend.
