Fourth District Fire Department reports 6th brush fire this month

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – The Fourth District Fire Department is urging caution after it says it responded to its sixth brush fire this month on Tuesday.

The department says a reported field fire occurred along Highway 185.

Upon arrival, fire officials say units found a corn field on fire that was heading toward the woods.

Units from Fourth District Fire Department and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department got the fire under control, officials say.

Fourth District officials say this is their sixth brush fire they have worked this month caused by a controlled burn spreading.

A burn restriction remains in place throughout Kentucky. Until April 30, officials are reminding the public there is no burning allowed between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Burning between these hours could lead to a citation.
