Former Warren County Deputy Sheriff sworn in as Warren County Schools director of school safety

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-A new director of school safety and school resource manager was sworn in Friday, and he has quite a bit of experience in law enforcement.

Warren County Deputy Sheriff John Clark was sworn in as the Warren County Schools Director of school safety and school resource manager before the fiscal court meeting. District staff like superintendent Rob Clayton were in attendance.

Clark’s primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire school resource officer program in the district, and he’ll be ensuring that all students and staff and learning and working from a safe environment.

Clark started with Kentucky State Police as a dispatcher in 1994, and 5 years as post commander for post 3. He says he’s thrilled to use this experience to further serve the community, and school district.

“It just seemed like an obvious choice. It’s really important to me to be able to work hard at work that’s really worth doing. There’s not a much more important thing than stepping in there and making sure these schools are safe,” Clark said.

Superintendent Rob Clayton says the students are continuously building relationships with the school resource officers in each of the schools, and he’s ready to welcome deputy John Clark in the mix to promote that even further.
