Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie files paperwork for 2024 presidential bid

(CNN, POOL) – Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie is throwing his hat into the ring of a rapidly growing field.
He filed to run for president on Tuesday ahead of announcing his second bid for the White House Tuesday evening.
Christie first tried to get the Republican nomination in 2016.
Christie has been an outspoken critic of former president Donald Trump.
He hopes to emerge as a foil to Trump and the other GOP frontrunner, Florida governor Ron DeSantis, by appealing to more traditionally conservative, establishment-friendly Republicans.
