Former Lexington pastor indicted on rape, sexual abuse charges
FRANKFORT, Ky. – A former Lexington pastor has been indicted on multiple charges involving sexual abuse.
According to a release by the Office of Attorney General Russell Coleman, Zachary King, 47, former executive pastor of LexCity Church, was indicted on seven felony counts on Tuesday.
The release says King is formally charged with one count each of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, victim under 18, third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.
The Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations investigated the case, along with support from the Lexington Police Department.
Assistant Attorney General Todd Willard presented the case to the Fayette County Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.
