Former Caverna High School basketball coach sentenced

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A former Caverna High School basketball coach has been sentenced in a case involving several charges, including child abuse.
According to court records, Terrence Miles was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Dec. 16.
Court records state Miles pleaded guilty to charges of fourth-degree assault (child abuse), second-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree official misconduct and failure to report child dependency, neglect or abuse, first offense.
A charge of second-degree assault was dismissed, according to court records.
The case follows a video that circulated on social media that featured the coach.
Court records state Miles is ordered to surrender his teaching license for a minimum of four years and to be under a lifetime ban from teaching and coaching from schools.
