Former Bowling Green Mayor passes away
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – According to reports from members of the community, former Bowling Green mayor, Patsy Sloan passed away.
Sloan is often described as a trailblazer in her field and was the first female mayor in the city’s history, holding office from 1988 to 1991.
She was an educator who taught at Bowling Green High School for 31 years and a public servant who continued to work for the betterment of our community in various non-profit organizations. Sloan also sat on the Warren County Economic Development Authority board of directors for multiple years. She was memorialized while living when the Bowling Green, Warren County Convention Center was re-named in 2002 as the Sloan Convention Center, in honor of her dedication to the area.
