Fleming Co. man sentenced for producing child sexual exploitation material

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A Fleming County man is facing 30 years in prison for reportedly producing child sexual exploitation material.
According to United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky, 30-year-old Michael La Porta was sentenced Friday.
According to a plea agreement, La Porta entered into a “relationship” with a minor and engaged in sexual activity with the minor, along with communicating using various forms of electronic messaging, particularly Snapchat.
Officials say during communication with the minor, La Porta would “discuss various forms of sexual activities,” as well as asking the victim to send explicit videos to him.
The victim’s trusted adults learned of this situation and reported it to law enforcement, officials say. Authorities were able to confirm the communication and production of sexually explicit videos, according to officials.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Kentucky State Police.
