Firefighters respond to vacant building fire in Auburn

AUBURN, Ky. – Fire units responded to a vacant building fire Thursday evening in Logan County.

According to a release, the Auburn Fire Department, with assistance from the Russellville Rural Fire Department, received a dispatch to the 700 block of West Main Street to a structure fire.

AFD says the caller observed a fire on the roof of a vacant commercial building.

Upon arrival, fire units identified heavy smoke and fire coming from the building

Firefighters extinguished the fire and cleared the scene after searching the building.

AFD says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
