BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Fire Department System responded to an unknown hazardous materials incident on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a social media post, units responded to Boiling Springs Road on a report of a 500–1,000-gallon propane tank that was open next to a grain silo.

Engines from the Richardsville Fire Department and Warren County Emergency Management arrived at the scene and located a broken valve at the top of a 1,000-gallon propane tank.

Crews attempted to control the leak at the valve before deciding to reposition the tank and let it “bleed off.”

Southern State personnel responded to the scene and mitigated the incident in two hours.

No injuries were reported.
