Final day for Clear the Shelters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Bowling Green – Warren County Humane Society extended its Clear the Shelters event, with its final day being this Labor Day.
The shelter is still sitting at code red with many more intakes than outgoing animals. This is typical of the summer months, however, this summer has been especially difficult for the BGWCHS as well as other shelters in the area and even the nation.
Clear the Shelters allows loving pet parents to adopt their new friends at half price, roughly $25.
“We’re really excited to announce that we have had almost 600 adoptions during the month of August. Unfortunately, we’ve had almost 1200 new arrivals. So of course, that does counteracted a little bit. But we’re really excited for all the animals that have found their forever homes and we hope that people won’t stop at the end of clear the shelters,” Leah Lawrence, adoption center manager, said.
