Few flights canceled despite holiday rush

(CNN) – So far it’s smooth sailing for the airline industry.

According to the Flight Aware tracking site, only 28 flights were canceled Wednesday morning.

Analysts say the day before Thanksgiving will be the busiest travel day of this holiday weekend, and the weather isn’t causing any major issues.

However, that might not be the case over the weekend.

Forecasters say heavy rains are expected in the northeast and Great Lakes areas on Sunday.

As a result, it could cause some flights to be delayed or canceled.
