FEMA encourages you to apply for assistance after storms
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.– Right now our community is still working to clean up after the damage caused by tornadoes three weeks ago.
With another storm system possibly making its way into our area this weekend. Many are worried about what resources may be available.
Right now you can still apply for FEMA assistance. The deadline to do that is February 11th. The Red Cross is offering shelter to those in need you can just give them call their number is 1-800-RED-CROSS. Also, the recovery center will reopen this Sunday from 1 p.m. To 6 p.m.
You can always help the community by donating to our local charities.
We spoke with FEMA representative, Troy York. He told us that if another emergency disaster is declared FEMA will be ready to help again.
He says the only thing you need to do is apply!
For anyone in need of shelter tonight from the storms, all county parks will be open and have shelters and also employees on site to help.
