Feeling Fall

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – With fall fast approaching and the already unseasonably cool temperatures hanging around this week, many people may begin to think it is time to go and partake in their favorite fall activities.

The good news is the leaves may begin changing very soon, especially out east, Shane Holinde of the Kentucky Mesonet and Climate Center predicts.

“I think we might actually start to see a tinge of color in portions of mainly eastern Kentucky, like in the Daniel Boone National Forest within the next week or ten days, even as the calendar moves from summer into fall. And the reason I say that is because we’re going to have another shot of unseasonably cool air lasting through the remainder of this week and into part of the next.” Holinde said.

This is great news for those who are looking for a little road trip to see some color. If staying local is more appealing then it may be worth checking out Jackson’s Orchard who are having a great season in spite of the high temps of the late summer says co-owner Jonathan Price.

“It’s been a very favorable growing summer. We’ve had up a little bit of of some some hot weather but nothing nothing too extreme and and some very timely some rain. So apples have appreciated all the pumpkins have appreciated it. Looking forward to a good fall.” Price said.
