Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland and Pathfinders to distribute food

CAVE CITY, Ky. – Although Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits are being distributed this month, there may still be a need for some families.

Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland and Pathfinders are partnering with each other by distributing food to families at the Cave City Area Conference Center on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Feeding America’s desire to remain consistent isn’t just for people who receive resources; it’s also to support other charitable food distributors who were also affected by the government shutdown.

Charles Dennis, the executive director of Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland, tells us, “During the government shutdown, when the SNAP benefits were not loaded starting on Nov. 1, you know, all we did was jump into action with our partner agency network, and we just you know, we strengthened them.”

If you are a Barren County resident in need of food resources this Thursday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., Feeding America and Pathfinders will be distributing food.
