Feed the Force: South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers hold fundraiser
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers held their second annual Feed the Force Wednesday to support law enforcement.
The event is the largest fundraiser for the Crime Stoppers each year. It also serves as law enforcement appreciation. The community lunch now takes place instead of the usual breakfast that was held previously.
Law enforcement ate free and the public paid $10 per ticket to join Crime Stoppers and supporters for lunch.
The public and officers could choose from four local food trucks, including Cotton BBQ, The Yellow Polka Dot Panini, Lady Bugs and Lost River Pizza.
Crime Stoppers serves as a nationwide effort to allow the public to help law enforcement with tips on crimes. South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers have paid out a total of $130,000 for tips.
“Crime Stoppers is very important,” said Mike Lindsey of South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers. “A fellow board member told me just earlier today that we have played a role in solving 10 murders in the last 12 years.”
