MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – One person is dead following a collision at the 59 mile marker on Interstate 65 northbound.

This Tuesday morning wreck was a secondary wreck to one that had occurred earlier near the same location, Kentucky State Police Trooper Daniel Priddy said.

The interstate at that location has been shut down since Tuesday morning and is expected to remain shut down for several more hours, Priddy said.

A semi truck struck two Kentucky State Police troopers’ marked vehicles while troopers investigated the fatal collision on the interstate. Both troopers sustained minor injuries.

The troopers were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released, Priddy said.
