Fatal collision in Washington County leaves one dead
SRINGFIELD, KY – Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on KY 555 in Washington County a little before 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to KSP, a preliminary investigation revealed that 56-year-old James Drury of Lawrenceburg was traveling south on KY 555 when he lost control of his vehicle due to ice on the roadway at a bridge crossing.
Drury’s vehicle struck the guardrail of the bridge multiple times before crossing over the centerline, colliding with a vehicle driven by 26-year-old David Waldridge of Bardstown.
Drury was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. Waldridge and a passenger, 32-year-old Dustin Pulley of Campbellsville, were transported to local hospitals for serious injuries.
