GLASGOW, Ky. – Farmers RECC says customer power outage numbers have further reduced as of Wednesday morning.

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, the company says outages have been reduced to under 600 members.

Farmers RECC says it will not stop working “until every member is restored.”

Restoration remains slow due to extensive damage and hazardous conditions, officials say. These include downed trees, damaged power lines and broken poles.

Farmers RECC advises members that full power restoration may extend through Thursday.

“We are currently in the most time-consuming phase of storm recovery. Although the number of members without power has decreased, we are still addressing approximately 90 separate outage locations. At this stage, crews may work for hours on an outage that restores service to only a few members,” the company stated Wednesday.

The company further states crews could be working several miles away on an issue that ultimately restores power, so while they may not be immediately visible, they may be tackling an issue nearby.

At this time, Farmers RECC says it has 31 crews comprised of over 70 individuals working across the entire service territory.

Farmers RECC says it wants to reassure members who may feel forgotten that crews are working around the clock until service is fully restored.

The company also asks neighbors to continue looking out for one another, especially those who are older or medically vulnerable.
