GLASGOW, Ky. – Crews continue to work to restore power after severe weather on Sunday in Kentucky.

According to Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation, they have been busy replacing multiple broken poles, putting up wire spans and clearing downed trees.

They currently have around 3,100 members without power, Farmers RECC says.

The company says its workforce has nearly doubled thanks to help from mutual aid.

Twenty five crew members are assisting from Midwest Electric, Inc. from Ohio, Pioneer Electric Cooperative from Ohio, 5 Star Electric Contracting, Great South Western Construction Contracting, Glasgow Electric Plant Board and Townsend Tree Service.

“First, we want to say that we understand this has been difficult for our members,” Farmers RECC stated. “We know you are frustrated. Please be assured that our crews won’t stop working until all of our members have been restored.”

Farmers RECC says saturated ground conditions have slowed progress. If you have not yet seen someone on your road, the utility company says this is because crews could be working several miles away on an issue that will get power restored.

If your neighbor has power but you have not been restored, Farmers RECC says to check the breakers in your panel box and see if they are tripped. They also say to keep in mind your home may be served by a different substation, line or transformer.
