Farmers in Barren, Hart counties among recipients of agricultural loans

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Farmers in Barren and Hart counties are among those that are set to benefit from recent agricultural loans.
According to a release by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, five agricultural infrastructure loans totaling up to $741,500 were approved.
Counties receiving agricultural infrastructure loans include the following:
- Calloway at $94,500
- Graves at $250,000 and $250,000
- Meade at $72,000
- Washington at $75,000
In addition, officials say the Beginning Farmer Loan Program is designed to assist those with some farming experience who want to develop, expand or buy into a farming operation. The release says recipients of these loans can finance the purchase of livestock, equipment or agriculture facilities and can secure permanent working capitol for buying farm real estate or invest in a partnership or LLC.
Counties receiving beginning farmer loans include the following with a total of up to $1,373,750:
- Barren at $250,000
- Gallatin at $150,000
- Grayson at $250,000 and $250,000
- Hart at $85,000
- Madison at $162,500
- Trigg at $120,000
- Washington at $106,250
