Farmers Bank & Trust plans new branches in Franklin and Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – Farmers Bank & Trust has purchased land for two future branch locations in Franklin and Bowling Green, continuing its expansion across south-central and western Kentucky.

Both sites are along Nashville Road about 15 miles apart, a move the bank says reflects continued investment in the Interstate 65 corridor and the communities it serves.

Construction on the Franklin branch is expected to begin in 2026, with an opening planned for early 2027. A second Bowling Green location is slated to follow, with construction targeted for mid-2027.

“Growing the right way has always mattered to us,” said Wade Berry, president and CEO of Farmers Bank & Trust. “As an employee-owned community bank, we focus on building relationships, supporting local growth, and being present where our customers need us.”

Expansion into Franklin will be led by Bowling Green Market President Chris Hall, a Franklin native, who will oversee the bank’s efforts in Simpson County.

“Franklin is a community we know well and care deeply about,” Hall said. “Many of our employees and customers already have strong ties to the area, and we’re excited to bring Farmers Bank’s relationship-focused approach to community banking to Franklin.”

The additional Bowling Green office will support customers in Warren County and strengthen the bank’s presence in a market, where it has seen continued growth. The new location is expected to serve as the flagship office for the Bowling Green market.

Berry said the expansions reflect the bank’s commitment to both new and existing communities.

“The new Franklin location allows us to serve a community we’re excited to officially become part of,” he said. “At the same time, expanding in Bowling Green helps us continue supporting a market where we already have strong relationships.”

The bank said additional details will be announced as development plans move forward.
