Fant Foundation donates $30,000 to tornado victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Wednesday afternoon, NFL player and Bowling Green native George Fant stopped by the Kiwanis club to talk about what his organization has been doing for the community.

The Fant Foundation recently announced on social media that they had raised $30,000 so far to help tornado victims. The foundation was able to help over 20 families, as well as schools and churches that were accepting donations to give out to the community.

Fant also talked about the events he has been able to put on, like the Dream Big Camp and the Celebrity Softball Game.

Fant is a Western Kentucky University grad and now an offensive tackle for the New York Jets. He said even though he’s in the NFL now, that makes it even more important to give back to where he came from.

“This is home for me, I love Bowling Green, I love the people here. What I tell people all the time is I wouldn’t be where I am today without this community. So anytime I get a chance to come home and work with the community and do some things for the community I try to take it.”

He said the purpose of his foundation, created in 2021, is to lift up youth through sports and education. You can learn more about his foundation here.
