Family Enrichment Center celebrates 40 years of service

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local child abuse prevention organization is celebrating 40 years of service.

At an event held at the Family Enrichment Center, people attending enjoyed cake and a ribbon cutting to celebrate the organization’s four decades of service.

Since 1979, the Family Enrichment Center has had a goal of empowering families and preventing child abuse through education, social support, crisis intervention and a safe environment.

The Family Enrichment Center also spearheads several community events. Some of those include the Family Enrichment Center run/walk for children, the Venetian Ball and the Mud Happens Mud Run.

Those working for the Family Enrichment Center said they’re proud of this milestone.

“It is really rewarding to see families who have been in crisis to come together and get their situations rectified to become a healthy functioning family. It’s nice to be a part of that. Part of my job includes getting to see families formed,” said adoption resource program coordinator Denise Lambrianoh.

The Family Enrichment Center website includes a link where anyone can sign up to volunteer.
