Ethan Foundation preventing childhood obesity with nutrition, education and exercise

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local non-profit organization has a mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle from childhood through adulthood.

Through their programs, they help prevent childhood obesity.

The Ethan Foundation, created in 2013, is currently inside CrossFit Old School.

Its mission is to address a lack of nutritional education in kids by implementing special exercises and nutritional programming.

The Ethan Foundation partners with other local organizations to help reinforce healthy habits and provide financial assistance to needy youth.

Currently, the Ethan Foundation offers an after-school program for kids at St. Joseph School.

Through engaging workouts in a group setting, it prepares them to be well-rounded athletes.

Caitlin Greenwell, the Executive Director, says this is just one example of their efforts to prevent childhood obesity.

The Ethan Foundation is having its first fundraising event, the David & Goliath Fitness Competition at CrossFit Old School.

The competition is on April 27th from 8:00 a.m. to noon and will pair one adult with one child for three CrossFit style workouts.

The proceeds from this event will benefit the Ethan Foundation.
