Cell Phone Outage Causing Issues for Emergency Dispatch Centers in Kentucky

WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Many 9-1-1 lines around South Central Kentucky are currently down due to the early Friday morning explosion in Nashville near an AT&T switch building.

The Bowling Green Police Department is reporting a widespread problem for their 9-1-1 line.

BGPD says 9-1-1 is working, but very slowly. They have the ability to answer 9-1-1 on a limited basis and say lines are being transferred to their desk phones.

Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is experiencing major issues regarding calls coming into the dispatch center.

Area 911 dispatch centers in the Post 3 district as well as some other surrounding districts are reporting outages. Post 3 dispatch is receiving 911 emergency calls from Verizon carriers at this time. If someone is calling in on the AT&T network, it is possible they may not get through.
