FRANKLIN, Ky. – First responders say they have received reports of multiple water rescues on Saturday.

The Simpson County Office of Emergency Management says one vehicle was in the water as rain continues to sweep through the local area.

Additional details on this rescue have not been released at this time.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says it also responded to assist a vehicle in floodwater on Jackson Bridge Road.

According to sheriff Stephen Stratton with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, units worked a vehicle in flood waters without entrapment.

Stratton says multiple units were also on scene of a tractor-trailer in Adairville blocking road due entering a ditch at a flooded road. Stratton says deputies have also responded to multiple vehicles off of roadways.

“When individuals attempt to cross floodwaters and become stranded, they not only put themselves at risk but also endanger first responders who may be called to assist,” Stratton stated. “Even if individuals manage to escape before help arrives, their actions divert emergency resources and create unnecessary hazards. Ignoring flood warnings and underestimating the power of moving water can lead to life-threatening situations, making it crucial to use common sense and prioritize safety to prevent avoidable rescues.”

If drivers must travel, officials are encouraging them to remain cautious this weekend.
