Embry Steps Down as Spartans Head Coach

South Warren

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Blane Embry has announced his resignation as head coach of the South Warren Spartans.

Embry spent two seasons as head coach of the South Warren’s boys team, posting a 30-30 overall record. Before that, Embry was the school’s girls basketball coach and helped lead the Spartans to a 124-36 record and three District 14 Championships in five seasons.

The longtime head coach cited a desire to spend more time with his family as the primary reason for his resignation.

Embry and the Spartans’ 2019-20 season came to an end in the District 14 Semifinals with a 70-56 loss to Warren Central.

South Warren joins Bowling Green High School in searching for a new boys basketball head coach, which will mark the program’s sixth coach since the school opened in 2010.
