GLASGOW, Ky. – An Edmonton woman is formally charged in connection with a fatal Barren County crash.

According to a uniform citation, 47-year-old Heather Slater of Edmonton was arrested on an indictment warrant on Monday on charges stemming from a fatal crash, including reckless homicide, first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of assault.

Court documents state a warrant of arrest on indictment was issued on July 16.

In November 2022, the Kentucky State Police states Slater was driving on the 6700 block of Burkesville Road when her vehicle crossed the center line, striking two other vehicles. As as a result, authorities say Slater’s passenger, 62-year-old Karrie J. Selner of Edmonton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the drivers of all three vehicles, along with a passenger in a third vehicle that was struck, were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Slater has since been released from the Barren County Detention Center the same day of her arrest.

Slater’s next court date is scheduled for Aug. 25, according to jail records.
