EDMONTON, Ky. – An Edmonton man is facing charges in a reported sexual abuse case.

According to a uniform citation, the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office responded Monday to the 2600 block of Randolph Road regarding 64-year-old Teddy Gibson of Edmonton trespassing on property.

Deputies say the caller stated she entered the home to visit the female victim and saw Gibson having sexual contact with the victim.

When she entered the home, authorities say the caller stated Gibson fled the house and property.

Authorities say The Kentucky State Police opened a rape investigation, and this remains ongoing.

Gibson was located on the property after being warned he would be charged with criminal trespassing, according to the citation.

Gibson was arrested and transported to the Edmonton Police Department, where authorities say Gibson claimed sexual contact with the victim was consensual.

Gibson was transported to the Barren County Detention Center. He is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree criminal trespassing.
