Edmonton man appears in court for rape charge

SUMMER SHADE, Ky. – An Edmonton man is behind bars on a rape charge.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police arrested 21-year-old Tristen Proffitt on Monday on a complaint warrant for a charge of first-degree rape.
Court records state Proffitt had a revocation hearing Wednesday morning, as well as arraignment for the first-degree rape charge.
Proffitt entered a not guilty plea Wednesday morning, court records state.
Proffitt was previously arrested on a first-degree rape charge involving a minor related to a rape investigation that started in late July.
Proffitt remains at the Barren County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14, according to the Metcalfe County Circuit Court.
