Edmonson County Water District issues a boil water advisory

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – On Monday, the Edmonson County Water District issued a boil water advisory that impacts approximately 212 customers.
According to officials, a potential exists for bacteriological contamination due to low pressure or no pressure. This is due to a water line relocation.
Officials say that affected areas include all customers south of Brownsville (not including customers that utilize city water).
The boil water advisory will remain in place as officials collect water samples and the threat of contamination has been eliminated. The final decision on lifting the boil water advisory will be made by the Environmental Protection Agency.
