Edmonson County Schools closed until Monday
EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – Due to many cases of Stomach Virus, Flu A and B as well as a few COVID-19 cases, Edmonson County Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week.
Superintendent Brian Alexander says that this will allow students and the faculty members who began to be absent in greater numbers to get well before the final push before the Holiday Break next week on Monday and Tuesday.
“I think it’s something that school districts look to a little bit sooner then than we did before COVID. You know, it’s it’s my job to take care of Edmonson county and the kids and the staff of them and the county. And, you know, it’s not something that we want to do. We regret that we have to do it, but we do it when we have to. Because, you know, the health and the safety of our our kids and our staff is our first concern. And it’s just something that we couldn’t avoid here,” Alexander said.
The district will reopen like normal on Monday for the final two days of the semester.
