Edelen discusses gubernatorial race at Rotary Club luncheon in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Democrat, Adam Edelen, the former Kentucky State Auditor, who is now running for governor, made a stop along the campaign trail in Bowling Green Wednesday afternoon.
Edelen was the guest speaker at the Bowling Green Rotary Club meeting at Bowling Green Country Club.
Edelen spoke for about 30 minutes on a number of topics, including renewable energy, wage stagnation and access to broadband in rural areas.
Edelen told the crowd he’s not in the race to beat Governor Matt Bevin but to make Kentucky a better place.
As of late, Edelen and one of his Primary opponents, Attorney General Andy Beshear, have recently been trading barbs in campaign ads, which is something Edelen discussed with WNKY.
“The Democratic nomination is worth having and the Attorney General and I have dramatically different perspectives on where the state needs to go. It’s going to be a contentious primary,” said Edelen. “I think that’s important. I think a marketplace of ideas and people putting out their agenda only makes for stronger candidates in the fall.
Beshear is scheduled to be the guest speaker at next week’s the Rotary Club meeting.
