E-bikes recalled for fire and burn hazard concerns

(CNN) – More than 24,000 electric bikes have been recalled due to burn and fire hazards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, certain Vivi E-bike models’ 36-volt lithium-ion rechargeable batteries can overheat.

The bikes were sold online at Amazon, Walmart, EBay and other retailers from December 2020 through November 2023.

Consumers should stop using the E-bikes and call Vivi for a free replacement battery and battery charger.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
