Duncan Hines Days Festivities return to Russell Sims Aquatic Center

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Duncan Hines Days festivities returned to Russell Sims Aquatic Center Wednesday for a fun day at the water park.

The pool celebrated Duncan Hines Days with the community through summer fun, good food and plenty of activities.

The annual event saw some interesting happenings, including the famous Duncan Hines rubber duck drop down the Raging Red Rapids water slide and giving those in attendance the chance to “Cannon Ball with a Cop.”

Duncan Hines themed concessions, such as Uncle Duncan’s pickle pizza and family cookie, were available, along with all other Russell Sims concessions throughout the day.

Now that the aquatic center has been a part of the week-long festivities for four years, Russell Sims aims to provide the community with the nostalgic summer feel as they enjoy a day at the pool.

“We really feel like Russell Sims is kind of like a vacation right in your backyard,” said Cameron Levis, recreation manager for the City of Bowling Green. “And so when we’re celebrating all things nostalgic summer, and nostalgic America, there’s nothing more fitting than a day here at a place that is truly a summer staple for so many families and individuals here in our community.”
