Drive-Thru Christmas extravaganza held at Red Cross Elementary

GLASGOW Ky.-A safe holiday event was planned at a local elementary school.

The drive-thru Christmas Extravaganza took place at Red Cross Elementary School in the Barren County School district Thursday evening. The event was made drive thru style in order to make sure all attending students are safely distanced.

When students and their families drove through, they had the chance to see the school’s staff, as well as Santa. Students could drop off letters to Santa and received hot chocolate, candy canes, and books.

Red Cross principal Michael Davis said bringing some Christmas cheer to the students is a great way to uplift them for the holidays.

“I really can’t say enough about the work that the staff has done to support families and students. Any situations out there, they’re doing things above and beyond to make it work for the students. I also want to say thanks to our families. They’re doing a great job as well helping their students be successful,” Davis said.
