Dr. Amy Brausch honored with 2026 CUSA Faculty Award

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Announced Thursday, Western Kentucky University professor Dr. Amy Brausch earned the Conference USA Faculty Achievement Award.
This award is given to a faculty member on campus who is dedicated to teaching, focusing on their field by conducting research and studies and wanting to make a difference in their communities by serving their respective campuses.
The recipient of the award is nominated by a group of presidents and chancellors from the conference to recognize their work in teaching and services. The 11 recipients will be automatically added to the nomination for CUSA Professor of the Year which will be decided by the institution’s provosts.
Not only does Brausch teach, she is also well known internationality for her work in suicide prevention research that has helped impact practices and scholarships. According to the university, she currently leads a research program that is externally funded exceeding $2.1 million, that includes more than 40 collaborative publishers with student authors.
Brausch is also a dedicated mentor who has secured constant funding to ensure that every grad student in her lab is supported, to over 30 graduate students and 10 undergraduate students, according to WKU.
Her teachings within the Psychological Sciences Department at WKU showcase the ability for students to translate complex research into impactful learning experiences while maintaining high academic standards, the university says.
Outside of the classroom, WKU says she shows exceptional leadership and co-funding the annual Suicide Research Symposium which brings thousands of people worldwide together.
