Downtown will soon have two working clocks
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Time is on the move in downtown Bowling Green.
In the 900 block of State Street in front of an accounting firm the old, iron Seth Thomas clock that hasn’t ticked in more than a decade will be moved to an area in front of the Warren County Courthouse and will be restored.
Warren County Fiscal Court voted unanimously today to accept the donation of the old clock from the owner, Tom Blair.
In place of the old clock at 922 State Street, the Bowling Green Rotary Club is erecting a brand new clock with a marble base. The face of the clock will feature the Rotary Cog.
“We will have two working clocks in the downtown area,” BG Rotary president Alan Palmer said.
“We think with the work on Fountain Square putting the clock there will be a nice addition to all of the efforts the city has made to upgrade,” he said.
