Downtown Bowling Green getting ready for annual Harvest Festival

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An annual fan favorite festival is heading back to downtown Bowling Green again this year.

The Harvest Festival is back again this year with the same fun it has brought years prior and even more options for shopping. Much has changed over the seven years the Harvest Festival has called downtown home, so much so that they are shutting down even more streets this year to provide more spaces to vendors and food truck to sell their goods.

Hundred of vendors will be out, with many of them being local and state vendors and some coming from out of state, with a different kind of feel to this year’s festival.

“This year, we are turning this into more of a street festival and not just a parks festival. We’re utilizing every inch of space that we possibly can to try to make for a good experience for all the attendees and guests and for all the vendors too, because we want these small business owners and entrepreneurs to have a good day and make some money and feel supported by the neighborhood,” said downtown development coordinator Telia Butler.

With the growing popularity in the festival, local establishments are also taking notice. This year, The Mint Gaming Hall is partnering with the city, as this was an opportunity that they can’t pass up on.

“What’s exciting this year, I know in addition to the old favorites, the pumpkin drops and all of the the vendors and crafts and great food is that there’s so many stops this year with so many new vendors that the city is actually having to close down a few more streets. So that’s exciting that we’re part of such a big event that’s growing and becoming even a bigger part of Bowling Green’s fall,” said Michael Gossum, the digital marketing manager for The Mint Gaming Hall.

The Harvest Festival is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 18 starting at 11 a.m. and running through 4 p.m.

The fair will occupy much of the downtown Bowling Green area. If you would like more information, you can click here.
