Dogs surrendered from Warren County hoarding situation getting new homes
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Over a dozen animals taken from a hoarding situation in Warren County are in the process of getting new homes.
The 18 dogs were brought to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society on Friday after the animals were surrendered to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
The 14 adult dogs and four puppies were found living in filthy conditions inside a residence in the 300 block of Fairview Boiling Springs Road.
Some of the female dogs are pregnant.
According to Humane Society officials, many of the dogs are already in foster care, while the six that are currently at the shelter have pending adoption applications.
“We’ve had a lot of interest and a lot of people coming to the facility over the weekend to visit the animals,” said Lorri Hare, the executive director of the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. “It has helped other animals get homes too because these may have not been the right fit for some people, but another one might have been. We’ve had a very busy Saturday and Sunday and we hope that continues on.”
Humane Society officials ask that if you are aware of an animal hoarding situation, to contact them.
