District says ‘no credible threat’ at Barren County Middle School

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – A local school district has confirmed no credible threat was found Wednesday at Barren County Middle School.
This follows after the following statement from Barren County Schools says a reference to a threat of violence had been found:
Earlier today, school staff at Barren County Middle were alerted to written language found in a restroom that referenced a threat of violence. School administrators immediately contacted law enforcement and followed established safety protocols.
Law enforcement responded and conducted an investigation, ultimately determining that there was no credible threat. At no time were students in danger. The school utilizes multiple safety measures, including daily weapons detection screening, on-campus School Resource Officer presence, and threat assessment protocols, all of which remain in place. The district takes all reports seriously and works closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of students and staff.”
