DEVELOPING: Semi dangling off Louisville bridge, driver rescued from cab
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WLKY) – A semi was involved in a crash on the Clark Memorial Bridge in Louisville Friday afternoon, causing the semi cab to hang off of the side.
The crash happened around 11:04 a.m., and officials said other vehicles were involved.
A driver, a woman, was stuck in the cab, but rescuers were able to get her out. They used a ladder to lower the rescuer, and the two were pulled up by rope and pulley.
They were safely back on the bridge at 11:45 a.m.
Police did confirm no one is in the Ohio River below.
Both sides of the bridge are shut down.
Louisville Fire officials will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m.
